Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you have age limits for applicants?
A: No, but the applicant has to be old enough to engage in an artistic, musical, or athletic activity so ideally would be at least 10 or so.
Q: Will you provide cash to my foster parents or guardian if they agree to supervise the funds?
A: No. We will purchase items for you and pay professionals for lessons and other services, but we do not distribute cash to applicants or their guardians.
Q: Are there types of goods and services that you are more likely to fund? Are there any things that are off limits?
A: We are open to all types of things that might help you develop your interests and talents, but it helps to hear how the requested support will do so. We want to help you develop your individual interests, whether traditional (guitar, tennis, photography) or less common (rock climbing, tai chi, robotics). But we want our support to develop some sort of artistic, musical, or athletic interest or creative streak rather than just cover general expenses.
Q: If I am requesting support for lessons (such as guitar or tennis), can I select the organization or person who provides the lessons?
A: Yes. You can propose a professional to provide the service, subject to our approval. We will require information about that professional as part of the process.
Q: What can I do if I have questions about the program or the application process?
A: You can send us an email or call us. See our contact information.
